Dominic John Caligiuri, 72, of Eldora, IA passed away suddenly at his home on December 22, 2022. Dominic worked primarily in the transportation industry in the Des Moines area with his most recent job at a storage company in Urbandale. Dominic loved his son Sean and granddaughters Koko and Ellie with all his heart and will be deeply missed. He was predeceased by wife Kolleen Van Rees Caligiuri, parents Dominic A. and Ilena B. Defino Caligiuri. He was survived by son Sean Caligiuri of Eldora, IA, granddaughters Koko and Ellie Caligiuri, brothers Jim Caligiuri, Joe Caligiuri (Chris), Des Moines, IA, Mike Caligiuri (Sue) Waukee, IA, John Caligiuri (Karen) Kansas City, MO and sisters Linda Caligiuri Anderson (Mike) Gardner, KS, Terri Caligiuri Blaylock (Steve) of Urbandale IA, sister in law’s Patti Van Rees Henry (Bob), Kathleen Van Rees Ray (Bruce), Cindy Van Rees Llewellyn (Don), brother in law Chris Van Rees (Kim) as well as many nieces and nephews including additional family and friends. Visitation will be January 8, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 at Iles Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman Rd, Des Moines, IA 50322 with guests invited to bring a single red flower. Dominic loved children and a donation may be made in his honor to Blank Children’s Hospital Des Moines, IA.
