Obituary

Randolph L. Jimenez Sr. passed away at his home on Saturday, April 4, 2020 surrounded by his family. A celebration for Randy will be held at a later date.

Randy was born on May 16, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Joseph R. Jimenez Sr. and Bonnie L. (Petty) Jimenez. He graduated from Dowling High School in 1968. He was active in HS sports, including football and wrestling and earning a place at the state wrestling tournament. Randy attended DMACC in Ankeny, Iowa and then newly formed class for the printing trades. Randy continued his education with the union trades and became a journeyman printer.

Randy worked in the printing trade for several companies including the State of Iowa, Meredith Printing Company, Farmers Magazine and retired from the printing trade in 1984 from Triplett Office Essentials. Randy loved the outdoor sports hunting and fishing being his favorite. His love of the shooting sports, archery, black powder, pistol, rifle and shotgun prompted him to start his own shooting range, Central Iowa Shooting Sports and taking his certification for instructor with the NRA. Randy was active in Boy Scouts of America and was scout master of Troup 222 in Martensdale, Iowa and the 132nd Explorer's sponsored by the 132nd Fighter Squadron.

Randy is survived by his wife Ann (Petry) Jimenez of 51 years; sons, Randy Jimenez Jr (Tylene), Brian Jimenez (Melissa); daughters, Tonja Jimenez and Bonnie Lovell (Jason); seven grandson's and two granddaughters, Brian Jimenez Jr, Joshua Jimenez, Hailey Lovell, Nathan Jimenez, Faith Lovell, Randy Jimenez III, Ronan & Rylan Jimenez and Raiden Jimenez, his brother Joseph R. Jimenez Jr (Nancy), sister Denise Bassell and many neices, nephews and cousins.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Bonnie Jimenez.
